How to make a good start with a new freecall ISP - PAGE3 |
|
Areas of interest Having sorted out the most important issues, what about the general services such as web space and E-Mail etc.? Making your ISP competitive is extremely important, most do this by price, but there are other ways with a minimum of cost involved. For example, if you're not competitive in price then be competitive in web space and related services. What 5mb would have cost two years ago is the same as 100mb today, so lash out on 100mb per subscriber and give them full CGI access with the ability to buy a PROPER domain for their accounts. Take note that only 1 in 10 people will actually use the web space and service provided by your ISP, so you should have no problem customising your system to that. |
Other things such as making an attractive, yet fast to load, website are things which should be obvious enough, but many ignore. Also, don't forget to make the signup system secure and have a good FAQ to help customers better understand those areas such as 'cut off's' that need explaining. If you've done all of the above, then take heart in the fact that you're on the way to creating a fast and profitable service. Other issues such as technical support should be addressed as you see fit, we'd advise hiring somebody specifically to answer and deal with E-Mails, with the rest for a typical phone service. Avoid charging users for technical support if it's YOU that's at fault!
