ISP Review - Interview with AOL UK

ISP Review interviews AOL UK about broadband, dialup and spam

Interview with AOL UK
By Mark 'Winter' Jackson : Feb 2nd - 2004 : Page 4 of 4

"we have no plans at present for the next AOL for Mac client"

18. ENGLISHGUY: Why is the free web space only 2mb?

We offer 20Mb per screen name, so 140mb in total.

19. JAMCAM: I would like to know if they think the new tie up with Dixons next month (FEB) will do as well for AOL as it did for Freeserve?

We hope and believe so! Dixons is a valuable partner to get our brand in front of a large number of high-street shoppers.

20. JAMCAM: How will the stores get on with both AOL and Freeserve promos running at the same time, since the stores still have Freeserve broadband to sell till this time next year?

We do not anticipate any problems as they are two distinct product categories, narrowband and broadband.

21. BAZILFAWLTY: Will the new AOL v9 be compatible with Mac OSX, particularly the broadband service? Lack of Mac support is all that’s stopping me switching to your 1mb service.

No, we have no plans at present for the next AOL for Mac client, but it is something we are continually re-evaluating.

22. BAZILFAWLTY: Is AOL going to support migration from an existing (non-AOL) ISPs ADSL product?

We already do - switching between any broadband ISPs is a little convoluted, but we will be happy to help new and prospective customers through it.

ISP Review would very much like to thank Jonathan Lambet for taking part in this interview.
