UK ISP Zzoomm has announced that their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network has begun to go live in parts of the large railway town and civil parish of Crewe and Nantwich (Cheshire, England), with premises in the village of Shavington being the first to benefit. But competition is fierce.

Network operator Digital Infrastructure (DI), which a few months ago revealed their aim to deploy a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to 1 million UK premises in 84 cities (here), has today confirmed that they’ve been able to secure £100m of funding from Basalt Infrastructure Partners.

Community ISP B4RN (Broadband for the Rural North), which are deploying a 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across rural premises in England, has today marked the 10th anniversary of their share launch. The network currently covers around 20,000 premises and has connected 9,000 of those.

Alternative network operator Freedom Fibre, which recently received a funding boost from UK ISP TalkTalk (here) and is busy building a new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to homes in semi-rural parts of North England, has just added four new towns across Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester to their plans.

Low cost UK internet and phone provider TalkTalk has this week become a company with “significant control” over alternative network operator Freedom Fibre (FF), which is currently building a new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to homes in semi-rural parts of Cheshire and Lancashire (England).

Business focused UK ISP Connectus has announced that their gigabit-capable broadband and Ethernet network has now been deployment to serve up to 50 businesses on the Bolesworth Estate in Cheshire, which specifically reflects the rural Chowley Oak Business Park within that estate.

The good news is that one of their first networks, Mollington, has now gone live.

A new UK network operator with the imaginative title of Digital Infrastructure (DI) has today announced that they’ve partnered with Aberla Utilities as part of a 5-year contract to deliver Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband across around 38,000 homes in the Cheshire town of Crewe. But they’ll face more than a little competition.

UK ISP Zzoomm has today confirmed that their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network will next be expanded into the Berkshire (England) towns of Sandhurst and Crowthorne. The rollout is expected to cover 10,500 homes and businesses in the two locations.

Swedish operator VX Fiber (inc. subsidiary LilaConnect) has this morning announced that their ongoing rollout of a new “open access” gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network has been extended into Cheshire (England), with the towns of Crewe and Nantwich joining their roster.

The B4RN (Broadband for the Rural North) project, which is deploying a 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across rural premises in several English counties, has revealed that they’ve now covered around 17,000 premises (8,600 connected customers) and are trialling a new £5 Connect Plus tariff.

UK ISP Zzoomm has today revealed that their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network will shortly be expanding into Staffordshire (England), specifically thousands of homes and businesses within the town of Cannock, which is home to a local population of c.30,000.
