Business ISP WarwickNet, which was last week acquired by CableCom (here), has today announced that their alternative fibre optic based fixed line broadband network has been expanded to cover the Elm Farm Industrial Estate in Bedford.

Cityfibre has announced that their 1Gbps capable fibre optic (FTTP) broadband network in the city of Aberdeen (Aberdeen Core), which is already being used to connect local businesses, is being extended to connect over 100 public buildings (schools, libraries etc.).

The Connecting Cheshire project in England has announced that a further 6,000 homes and businesses will soon get access to faster “fibre broadband” (FTTC/P) services from Openreach (BT), which is largely thanks to a reinvestment of £4.3 million (mostly public money).

The Connecting Devon and Somerset project has revealed that their Phase 1 roll-out of “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) services with BT (Openreach) will miss its target by far more than the “circa 1,700 premises” that was claimed in December 2016; it has actually fallen short by c.11,000.
