Broadband ISP FibreNest, which will soon serve full fibre (FTTP) packages to owners of new build homes covered by either OFNL or Persimmon Homes (FibreNest was acquired by OFNL in 2025), has notified existing customers of a Price Freeze until 2027 and hinted that customers will soon gain the ability to switch to other fibre providers.

Residents of the 100-home Amberwood estate in Carlisle (Cumbria, England), which was originally built by Persimmon Homes and thus served by a single full fibre (FTTP) network from FibreNest (recently acquired by OFNL), have expressed frustration after another protracted broadband outage hit the area – allegedly the latest in a long list of disruptions over the past 6 years.

Property developer Persimmon Homes (Persimmon Plc) has this morning announced that they’ve sold their sibling broadband ISP, FibreNest, which offered internet packages to homeowners on the developments where they’d deployed their own “full fibre” (FTTP) lines, to alternative network provider BUUK Infrastructure (aka – GTC, OFNL – Open Fibre Networks Limited).
