Satellite operator Eutelsat, which supplies a number of broadband ISPs in the UK (Europasat, Freedomsat, Avonline etc.), has announced a new range of business products that will boost download speeds up to 30Mbps and offer data allowances of up to 500GB.

TeraHertz Transmitter Delivers 105Gbps Wireless Speeds via Single Channel

A team of Japanese scientists have developed a TeraHertz (THz) transmitter that is capable of transmitting digital data at a rate of 105Gbps (Gigabits per second) over a single channel using the 300GHz band, which they claim could power a future generation of Mobile Broadband and Satellite links.

A new survey of over 9,000 aircraft passengers from 27 countries, which was conducted by GfK on behalf of Inmarsat, has revealed that 92% of respondents would like to access on-board Internet connectivity but only if it’s of a good quality (60% might not connect to a poor service).
