Mobile operator Three UK has introduced a new discount this week that cuts the monthly price of their 5G powered unlimited Three Home Broadband package to just £19 per month on a 24-month minimum term, rising to £28 if you only take a 1-month term or £21 for the equivalent 4G service on a 24-month term.

The UK internet domain registry, Nominet, has confirmed to ISPreview that their network has suffered an “unauthorised intrusion” after hackers exploited a “zero-day vulnerability” in the Virtual Private Network (VPN) software they use, which is supplied by Ivanti and enables their people to access systems remotely.

Network operator CityFibre has this morning announced that they’ve begun the roll-out phase of their £108m state-aid supported Project Gigabit contract for the West & East Sussex (Lot 16 & 1) area in England. This will extend their 10Gbps capable FTTP broadband ISP network to an additional 57,000 hard-to-reach rural premises.

Customers of budget internet provider TalkTalk, specifically those who take their Pay TV service, have had it confirmed that the ISP will be phasing out their single billing integration of Sky’s NOW TV streaming service (i.e. customers will no longer be able to add NOW TV Plans to a single bill from the ISP). Openreach Reveals Biggest UK Broadband Traffic Events for 2024

Network access provider Openreach (BT) has today revealed that broadband usage across their UK network increased by 10.5% in 2024 (higher than the c.9% recorded for 2023 and 2.5% in 2022) to total 103,590 PetaBytes (PB) of data, with December 2024 being the “busiest month of the year for broadband traffic” (1st Dec 2024 was the busiest day).
