Telecoms operator Vodafone has today announced that their new fixed line home broadband and phone packages, which were initially launched with limited coverage, have now become available to customers in any of 22 million premises across the United Kingdom.
So far Vodafone hasn’t put much effort into promoting the new ‘Vodafone Connect‘ products, although this may well change now that their service is finally available to around 80% of the country (the same coverage as BTOpenreach’s FTTC network, which they harness).

The original June 2015 launch article contains a full summary of the related packages and prices (here), which among other things notes that existing Vodafone mobile subscribers will get £5 per month off the home broadband price.
On top of that the operator said their packages are being offered at half-price for the first 12 months of service, although at the time of writing this wasn’t yet showing on their website (they had actually already been offering this for a few months at launch).
Meanwhile Vodafone Red (pay monthly mobile) customers will also get inclusive calls anytime to landlines, plus 300 free minutes to mobile numbers. And every customer gets inclusive evening and weekend calls, plus discounted Sure Signal (femtocell) units to boost mobile coverage indoors if necessary.
Jeroen Hoencamp, CEO of Vodafone UK, said:
“We have had great feedback on our broadband service from the customers involved in our regional launch. We are really pleased that they are finding the speeds as fast as they hoped for, while the Vodafone Connect companion app gives them an unprecedented level of control over their devices. We are looking forward to many other customers taking us up on our great offer and joining us on our journey to be the UK’s leading providers of entertainment services.”
In terms of what you actually get, all of the packages require customers to also take Vodafone’s own Phone Line Rental, which costs from the equivalent of £13.59 per month when pre-paid for a year in advance or £16.99 as a standard monthly charge.

On top of that you’ll pay a £30 activation fee for “fibre” (FTTC) and or £60 if you need a new phone line installed. A £6.99 router delivery fee also applies (the included router is a fairly capable 802.11ac WiFi supporting device). 12 months of Netflix has also been thrown in.
