Shropshire-based ISP Aquiss has introduced free setup (normally £100) on their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based unlimited “superfast broadband” packages during July 2019, which is on top of their existing 50% discount on monthly rental for the first three months of service.
As a result new customers will pay from £15 a month (first 3 months then £30) for their unlimited entry-level 35Mbps (average speed) FTTP tier or £17 (first 3 months then £34) for 67Mbps and you also get included Static IPv4 / IPv6 Addresses. The Openreach based FTTP product does not require customers to take copper line rental (it’s standalone) but you will need to use or buy your own wireless router.
Aquiss doesn’t yet offer “ultrafast broadband” (100Mbps+) speeds on their FTTP plans but this is due to follow shortly. Otherwise it’s important not to confuse the stable speeds and strong reliability of FTTP packages with those of hybrid fibre FTTC / VDSL2 services. However FTTP is currently only available to 1.3 million premises on this network.
