Netgem TV Service Signs Deals with 12 Ultrafast Fibre UK ISPs

Video streaming and IPTV company netgem.tv has announced that over the past 6 months they’ve been able to sign partnership agreements with 12 “Ultrafast Fibre” ISPs in the UK, which all told could enable their platform to reach over a quarter of a million UK homes.

The set-top-boxes that netgem.tv provides tend to be similar to those supplied by companies like Roku (Now TV), including the usual array of premium content (sports), apps (Amazon Prime Video, hayu, Rakuten TV, YouTube etc.), live TV channels (Freeview) and catch-up content.

Broadband providers tend to see this as an easy way to add a TV solution for their subscribers and without having to go to the fully integrated lengths of Virgin Media, BT, TalkTalk or Sky (Sky Broadband).

Sylvain Thevenot, MD of netgem.tv, said:

“[We’re committed to] bringing a new era of connectivity and value to all. More video clips and TV shows are being watched via Internet streaming but the experience is increasingly disjointed. Viewers are looking for choice but also simplicity in their everyday TV & Streaming experience. They also expect good value from their Fibre provider and Entertainment service. netgem.tv is there to solve this equation for them, offering Choice, simplicity, and Value.”

We recently reported on a similar agreement between netgem.tv and WightFibre on the Isle of Wight (here), although the streaming firm has also signed partnerships with Pure Broadband, Air Broadband, Pure Telecom, Gigaclear, Lilaconnect, VX Fibre, Cambridge Fibre, Pure Fibre, Voneus, Jersey Telecom and Origin Broadband. So expect to see a lot more TV options from smaller players in the near future.
