Leicestershire-based telecoms support and civil engineer firm HG Comms Ltd (HGC), which works with a number of UK broadband operators in different capacities (e.g. Cityfibre), has announced that they’ve been acquired by global infrastructure giant Vinci for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase is said to have been undertaken and completed by Cobra IS, a Vinci subsidiary company based in Madrid (Spain), which was also acquired by Vinci in December 2021 for €4.8bn and works across various sectors including Telecoms, Rail, Renewables and Power. Cobra has purchased HGC to help grow its UK footprint and expand its existing portfolio, which already extends across nearly 120 countries.
Managing Director of HGC, Noel Gaze, said: “Becoming part of Cobra and Vinci is the next step in the incredible journey for HGC. I’m so proud of our team and what we have achieved. Having Cobra as our parent company boosts our expansion strategy, bringing great opportunities for the team and further expanding our offering to clients.”
