Connectivity provider Neos Networks, which runs one of the UK’s biggest 34,000km long and 400Gbps capable business fibre networks – spanning 550 exchanges, 90+ data centres and 600+ Points of Presence (PoPs), has started giving businesses and broadband ISPs access to a wider range of independent full fibre networks – including new additions CityFibre and ITS Technology.
So far CityFibre have deployed their full fibre broadband (FTTP) and Ethernet network to cover 4.8 million UK premises (4.6m RFS), while ITS Technology’s similar XGS-PON based fibre infrastructure was last year said to “pass” more than 465,000 UK businesses (inc. commercial premises).
The latest addition to Neos Networks’ LIVEQUOTE platform, which brings together connectivity options from its own network as well as others (supported by an API ordering process that partner ISPs can embed for more automation), gives them access to additional CityFibre infrastructure, expanding the availability of high-capacity Ethernet and other connectivity services delivered through its national network and digital platform, subject to location availability.

Neos has also directly on-boarded ITS Technology’s, Ethernet and Ethernet over FTTP (EoFTTP) services, introducing additional competitively priced connectivity options for Ethernet and Neos DIA (Direct Internet Access) products across ITS’ network, spanning locations from London and the North-West to the Midlands, Yorkshire, Scotland and the South-West.
Nafsika Katsoglou, Director of Product, Digital and Pre-Sales at Neos Networks, said:
“Consolidation is changing who owns the UK’s connectivity infrastructure, but it shouldn’t reduce the choices available to customers.
LIVEQUOTE is designed as per our strategy to give customers greater clarity and choice by bringing multiple network options together in one place. With CityFibre and ITS expanding that choice even further, customers can select the right connectivity for each location rather than being tied to a single network operator.”
Neos’ digital platform now supports connectivity options from BTWholesale, Openreach, Virgin Media Business, PXC, Colt, Sky, Vorboss, CityFibre and ITS. Recent developments, including BT’s pending acquisition of TalkTalk and PXC and the Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) provisional concerns over Nexfibre’s proposed acquisition of Netomnia, demonstrate the precarious future of the UK’s fibre market and why aggregation solutions like this can help to simplify things.
