UK ISP Zen Internet Begins Offering Full Wholesale Solution

Consumer and business ISP Zen Internet appears to have officially expanded into offering a full wholesale solution and selling direct to other providers, which goes well beyond the limited partner options that they’ve been offering for quite some time now.

The Rochdale based provider has spent the past few years building up their fully resilient 10GB Core network, which now has over 207 Points of Presence (PoPs) delivering services to more than 500 Telephone Exchanges across the United Kingdom.

Initially Zen used its new infrastructure to launch a range of more flexible and affordable Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC), Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) and other services to their customers and resellers. But the ISP now has an ambition to take on some of the bigger players (e.g. TalkTalk Wholesale, Vodafone, BTWholesale etc.) and as such they’ve decided to go one better by offering a full wholesale solution.

Following on from the recent build out of our network to nearly 500 local telephone exchanges, we are creating an Industry leading Wholesale platform, offering highly competitve Layer 2 DSL (Copper and Fibre, On and Off-Net) and EAD connectivity to UK ISP’s and CP’s.

We offer multiple Interconnect locations in the North and South of the UK https://www.zen.co.uk/about-us/our-network and provide access to a highly skilled, dedicated team to assist with migration planning and implementation.

Officially speaking there’s not a lot of detail to be found about this yet, instead it’s only just slipping out through the cracks. But apparently Zen is already supplying at least one reasonably well known ISP and obviously they’ll be looking to add a few more. Zen has a better reputation than many of the key wholesale suppliers in this game and so that may work to their advantage.

Incidentally Zen has today announced the securing of two new regulatory accreditations, the Cyber Essentials Plus certification and IASME Gold standard accreditation.
