The small rural village of Appleton Wiske in the Vale of York (North Yorkshire, England) now has access to a free wireless internet (wifi) service after community ISP CLANNET installed a new transceiver at the local village hall.
At present the service coverage is extremely limited (i.e. the village hall and nearby homes), although CLANNET has said that it hopes to “expand the service in Appleton Wiske to cover more of the village during future network upgrades/maintenance“. No firm dates have been set.
