ISP Gigaclear has signed a new deal with NETadmin Systems that should improve its customer support services and possibly even help to “speed up delivery” of their new 1Gbps (Gigabits per second) capable fibre optic broadband (FTTP) network to rural parts of England.
Apparently the provider will do all of this by using NETadmin Systems’ OSS solution, which is designed to help automate the processes of their broadband services through features like network monitoring, service provisioning, customer management and ticket management.

For example, Gigaclear’s customers will now be able to perform a self-diagnostic of their home network in order to ensure that it can work properly with a 1Gbps connection.
Christer Karlsson, CTO at Gigaclear, said:
“Once the homes are connected to the high-speed fibre network and the customers’ gigabit services are delivered, the next issue to address is to getting the home networks up to speed. The customer devices and cables that used to work fine with a megabit DSL line might no longer do the job. Wireless coverage in big houses might not be good enough to make use of the bandwidth that is now available.
We have been using NETadmin since end of 2012 with success. The main advantage for us to use NETadmin is that we can deliver our services faster to our customers and it will naturally increases both revenue and customer satisfaction.”
In other words, what normally takes several hours work by a technician should now be possible with just the click of a button, thus saving Gigaclear both time and hopefully money so that they can instead focus on the physical FTTP service roll-out.
