Business ISP Metronet UK has teamed up with One Education in order to deploy superfast broadband internet connectivity to more than 100 schools in Manchester (England) and possibly beyond.
So far the provider has already connected 30 primary schools and several high schools to its “ultrafast” 10Gbps capable hybrid fibre optic (Dark Fibre) and carrier grade wireless broadband network.

Kate Rennicks, Educational Services Manager at Metronet (UK), said:
“Good quality connectivity makes a difference to schools. With the increasing importance of online learning tools such as those provided by One Education, the ability of teachers to access digital content is essential. We are delighted to be working with One Education in their mission to improve the services provided to schools and in their core principal of putting children first.”
Sadly Metronet doesn’t say how long it will take to deploy but we suspect that several more weeks and months of work may be involved. Meanwhile One Education typically works directly with schools to support and enhance learning by, among other things, providing advice, learning structures or IT support.
