Budget broadband and phone provider Direct Save Telecom has decided to help take the pain out of moving house by offering free line activation and low-cost line installations to those customers who need it.
The ISP says it will reactivate any phone line for free when a customer signs up to an 18 month contract, which can either be done on a chosen date or the next working day. In addition, DST will also install a new telephone line for only £29.95 as long as an 18 month contract is agreed (some ISPs can charge over £100 for this but the offers do tend to vary).

Alternatively, and perhaps in an effort to appeal to the United Kingdom’s renting and student population, if a customer does not want to sign up to an 18 month contract, DST will install a new line for £118 and place them on a “non-contract” 28-day rolling deal.
Stavros Tsolakis, CEO of Direct Save Telecom, said:
“We thought it was about time a deal was put in place for UK movers, as line activation and new line installation have been far too expensive for far too long. Movers can now enjoy free line activation, and low-cost line installation, when they sign-up to our £1.95, 18 month deal. Movers will not be able to find a better deal in the UK.”
DST currently also offers one of the UK’s cheapest home-phone and broadband bundles, costing from £1.95 per month for unlimited usage with a free wireless router, free setup and free evening and weekend calls.
