Manchester-based ISP Metronet (UK) have announced that their business focused hybrid fibre optic and wireless broadband network has now been expanded into the city of Preston in Lancashire (England).
The network enables local businesses to access data and Internet speeds that scale all the way up to the dizzy heights of 10Gbps (Gigabits per second), dropping to 2Gbps on the wireless network. By using the hybrid network approach Metronet claims that its network also delivers quick installations (within days instead of months) and better prices than the usual path of traditionally costly leased lines.
