Selkirk-based ISP TenTel has launched a new range of broadband and phone packages that also allow new customers to take a cut price Roku video streaming box for plugging into their TV, which allows access to a variety of catch-up (iPlayer, 4oD etc.) and premium TV (NOW TV, Netflix etc.) services.
Under the deal subscribers to any number of various broadband and “fibre broadband” (FTTC) packages from TenTel can add the Roku Stick to their package for a discounted price of £24.99. Alternatively you can also add the Roku 2 box for £54.99 or the Roku 3 for £79.99, all of which are a little cheaper than you’d pay in the shops, although we have seen the Roku 3 on sale elsewhere for £59.00 (here).
On top of that the ISP has decided to complement the Roku deal with a package that offers 6 months of free unlimited broadband (up to 17Mbps) and a free wireless router on an 18 month contract term, which rises to £6.99 per month for the remaining 12 months. However customers will also need to pay for line rental on top at £15.99 per month (at least that’s a fair bit cheaper than the big ISPs).
