Business focused UK ISP and Managed Service Provider Connectus has announced that their gigabit-capable “full fibre” broadband and Ethernet network is being extended to cover three additional business parks in the North of England, including the Waterside Business Park in St Helens, Canal Side and Chowley Oak in Chester.
The parks, which until now have had to rely on slow hybrid Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC / VDSL2) connectivity via Openreach’s network, are home to around 100 companies. By comparison the new full fibre network will give them access to gigabit speeds and a “dedicated unlimited circuit which comes fully monitored and supported by Connectus’ expert team.”
More than 80% of local businesses in these parks have already committed, with fixed package costs starting at £69.99 +vat per month (no details were provided on what you get for that price). Separately, further investment is also being made into the provider’s hosting services, which are currently distributed across three data centres in Doncaster, Wolverhampton and London to provide greater resilience.
Andy Marsden, Group Business Development Director, said:
“The need for SMEs to embrace digital transformation is more apparent every day; businesses are now becoming more dependent on cloud-based systems which in turn increase the demand for more bandwidth.
Our secure hosting for data backup, retrieval and the hosting of web applications and clients’ websites provides real peace of mind for our clients and underpins the overwhelming success in our Connect-Protect-Collaborate managed services model.”
End.
Don’t you just love it when a business has a press release with no details?! WHY? Haha!
