Alternative network provider Truespeed, which is deploying a new gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across rural parts of South West England, has today appointed Lisa Harrington to be a Non-Executive Director and to help the company accelerate its rollout of ultrafast broadband.

Lisa’s previous experience includes 10 years at BT in a range of senior positions including Chief Customer Officer of BT Group. She was also previously the Interim MD for Infrastructure at Hyperoptic, and most recently, Managing Director of the UK’s biggest tech and cyber skills provider, QA Ltd. She also champions mental health in the workplace and is an advocate for diversity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), having founded the BT Tech Women programme.

James Lowther, Truespeed CEO, said: “Lisa is a great addition to the Truespeed Board, whose knowledge and expertise will prove indispensable as we rapidly expand our network and continue to evolve and grow as a company. Lisa’s valuable perspective and future vision will be a huge attribute to Truespeed and I look forward to working alongside Lisa as we move towards reaching our next milestone.”

The operator, which has so far covered 50,000 premises and holds an “ambitious” target to reach 500,000 properties by around the end of 2026, is currently being funded by a £175 million investment from Aviva.

Hope that she cuts their off-putting 18 month minimum contract and offers a ‘no ties’ rolling contract like Jurassic Fibre.

Says the guy who is still waiting for super fast…. Pretty sure you’d take what ever terms (within reason) for Ultrafast Internet.

? Why was my comment mentioning investor ESG score deleted? This website had no problem reporting about openreach wanting a 50% female quota in management

So why is it so farfetched that someone with credentials of advocating equity in stem, to be hired to do just that?
