Eurasian focused network operator RETN UK has deployed a new Points of Presence (PoP) site in London, at the Lumen DC in Goswell Road, which will enable IP Transit services to new customers and expand their existing presence in one of the world’s major cities (new PoPs have also gone live in Poznań, Poland and Tallinn, Estonia).
“Our new PoP in Goswell Road exemplifies our commitment to grow our presence in the UK, bringing RETN’s network services to more UK based ISPs, NSPs and content providers,” said Chris Elliott, Commercial Director, RETN UK.

Is RETN UK owned by a Russian company?
Russian? Please I hope not!
We already have Cityfibre who have the United Arab Emirates government as one of their main owners/investors… Sadly we all know too well about the UAE’s human rights standards.
It had 2 Russian directors who resigned from their positions the week Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.
It’s owned by Pinkas Ltd. Pinkas has one director, Dmitry Samarin, who also owns between 50% and 75% of the business. Dmitry Samarin lives in the UK and has a British passport but was born in Russia. He’s been living in the UK for at least 10 years so would’ve been able to apply for citizenship through standard means.
The other owner is a German living in Austria.
TL;DR – No.
RETN is a UK company as can be seen clearly from Companies House records https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/06967555, it’s actually the largest NSP in the UK according to https://asrank.caida.org/
