Broadband ISP Connexin has today announced the appointment of a new Managing Director for Connexin Fibre, Shadi Halliwell, who it’s hoped will be able to boost their ongoing work to deploy a new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across parts of Hull and Yorkshire in England.
Shadi has several decades of experience working at UK network operators (e.g. BT, O2 and Three UK) and will be moving into the new role after having previously held the position as Non-Executive Director at Connexin since 2020.
The network operator, which aims to cover 500,000 premises with their new fibre infrastructure (no timescale has been given), currently expects to complete its initial build (c.150,000 homes) around the city of Hull by the end of this financial year.

Furqan Alamgir, Co-Founder and CEO at Connexin, said:
“It fills me with a great deal of pride to welcome Shadi to this new role. Her years of experience in the sector make her telco royalty, so we’re honoured to have her as the driving force behind the broadband division. Shadi has already brought several game-changing ideas to the table in her previous role at Connexin. I look forward to seeing her continue this energy in her new leadership role as she finds fresh and ground-breaking ways to help us continue our acceleration of the Connexin Fibre network nationwide.”
Residential customers of the provider’s unlimited FTTP service tend to pay from £37.50 per month for a speed of 125Mbps (symmetric) on an 18-month term, which rises to £49.99 for their top 1000Mbps tier.
