Wireless ISP Wifinity, which typically specialises in deploying WiFi style networks, has just reached an agreement on a new 10-year contract that will see them deploying WiFi and broadband internet services across UK retirement properties and care homes controlled by specialist housing provider Anchor Hanover.
As England’s largest provider of specialist housing and care for people in later life, Anchor is currently investing in its digital infrastructure and connectivity as part of its Connected Properties programme. Anchor’s entire portfolio stretches across nearly 1,700 locations, including residential care homes, retirement properties and villages.
Sarah Jones, CEO of Anchor Hanover Group, said: “We chose to partner with Wifinity because they are the leaders in the space of providing complex managed internet and broadband services. They have a proven track record of delivering at scale and they also took the time to really understand the people we serve and our business’ specific needs.”

The rollout is said to be “one of the largest backhaul and hardware deployments in the country“, which is a little bit hard to substantiate, but it’s definitely significant in scale for Wifinity. Costas Demetriou, Wifinity CEO, said: “We are delighted to be selected by Anchor to be a part of this digital transformation. The scale and ambition of this programme is huge and will make such a difference to so many people.”
