Internet provider Connexin, which is busy deploying a new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network across parts of Hull, East Lincolnshire and Yorkshire in England, has today launched a new range of “all-in-one broadband” packages for small and medium-sized businesses (SME) in the Hull area.
The network operator, which aims to cover 500,000 premises with their new fibre infrastructure (no timescale has been given), currently expects to complete its initial build (c.150,000 homes) around the city of Hull by the end of this financial year. But it’s not only homes that are benefitting from this.
The new offering for SMEs is said to provide a variety of high-speed broadband packages (speeds of up to 2Gbps) with “advanced Wi-Fi management, automatic mobile network failover, robust security and business productivity applications” to help ensure an improved “enterprise-grade” connectivity experience. Fully managed via the Connexin SmartBiz App.

Connexin’s Summary of Package Benefits
➤ Uninterrupted connectivity: Customers can ensure critical business systems are always operational in the event of an internet outage using mobile hotspot failover. This invaluable feature not only safeguards against disruptions but also enhances the overall reliability of connectivity, ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience.
➤ Business-ready networks: The SmartBiz app allows users to setup up to four individual networks including owner, staff, customer and point-of-sale which can all be renamed and have the ability to setup network specific content restrictions to provide increased security and maximise control of network usage.
➤ Branded customer portal and guest landing page: the customisable Wi-Fi portal provides complimentary Wi-Fi to attract customers. Connexin SmartBiz users can easily add their logo, preferred colours, and images to personalise the experience and grow their brand.
➤ Enterprise-grade cyber security: built-in network security protects business devices and data, point of sale systems, staff devices and customers to malware, cyberattacks, and internet threats.
➤ Central management of IT systems: full access and control of system removes the need for an in-house IT team, saving SMEs from incurring additional costs.
The provider claims to be the “only UK alternative network (alt-net) provider offering this service,” although this is tricky to substantiate due to the wide variety of choices and add-ons in the market (quite a lot of providers include at least some of these features on business plans).
Alex Yeung, Co-Founder of Connexin, said:
“We are delighted to launch our new business broadband packages and be able to offer local businesses in Hull, and beyond, with greater choice and variety of broadband solutions as part of our ‘Broadband that gives you more’ campaign.
When it comes to business broadband, SMEs are often tied down to long-term expensive enterprise packages or cheaper alternatives with little to no flexibility. With Connexin SmartBiz, it addresses a gap in the broadband market as businesses often have to compromise on speed over additional security or continuous connectivity that is critical for processes such as taking payments.
We are proud to help enhance services for organisations that are the lifeblood of Hull and the wider business community, while offering them the fastest broadband speeds on the market.”
Connexin will be providing introductory price offers and one month free on each of its packages. For customers choosing the VIP package, they will also receive an exclusive 50% discount when advertising on one of the provider’s flagship digital screens located at one of Hull’s busiest junctions. Sadly, the package and price details for these new plans are hidden behind one of those ‘request more information‘ style application forms.
