Mobile and broadband ISP Vodafone UK has today announced that they’ve promoted their existing Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Max Taylor, to take on the top job of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 2nd April 2024. The company’s current UK CEO, Ahmed Essam, will instead become CEO of European Markets and Germany Executive Chair.
Max has been working with Vodafone UK since 2019 and, prior to that, he held senior positions at domestic rival EE (BT). A spokesperson for Vodafone said: “Today, Vodafone UK announced that Max Taylor will be taking over as the new Chief Executive Officer starting April 2, 2024. Max will be stepping into the role previously held by Ahmed Essam, who will become CEO of European Markets and Germany Executive Chair, while continuing to oversee the proposed merger with Three UK.”
“Max brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Under his leadership as Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone UK has continued to grow its customer base, revenue, and margins, surpassing our competitors across various commercial metrics, with a strong focus on customer experience.“
