Peterborough-based Rydal Group, which is a UK telecoms, broadband and managed IT provider, has today continued their acquisition spree by announcing that they’ve recently gobbled a similar provider called HBT Communications Limited, with effect from 15th April 2026.
Founded in 1988 by brothers Zamurad and Ajmal Hussain, HBT Communications is one of the Midlands’ longest-established telecoms and IT providers. As part of the acquisition, HBT Communications will continue to operate exactly as before from its Coventry offices, with the same staff, management team, support processes and customer contact details remaining fully unchanged.
The acquisition is seen as strengthening Rydal Group’s presence in the Midlands, while giving HBT customers access to a broader portfolio of optional services, such as Curo IP (cloud telephony platform), AI-powered communications solutions, Secure UK-hosted data centre services and Managed IT support and cybersecurity services (delivered by Microsoft and Azure certified engineers).

Existing customer contracts, pricing and terms of business also remain unaffected.
Steffan Dancy, CEO of Rydal Group, said:
“HBT Communications has an exceptional reputation built over decades of trusted service, expertise and strong customer relationships. We are proud to welcome the business into the Rydal Group and look forward to supporting its continued growth while preserving the local, customer-focused approach that has made HBT so respected since 1988.”
The group now supports more than 3,000 UK businesses, from SMEs through to enterprise organisations, through a team of over 120 staff across multiple locations.

I was worried when they took over Merula that they would break everything they possibly could, and that I’d have to look for another ISP on OFNL. Luckily, they didn’t break anything.
