The state aid supported Better Broadband for Oxfordshire project has agreed to yet another “fibre broadband” (FTTC/P) roll-out extension with Openreach (BT), which means that a further 3,000 rural homes will be reached thanks to a new agreement worth £4 million.

The Better Broadband for Oxfordshire project with Openreach (BT), which is currently working to roll-out “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) services to “at least” 95% of local premises by December 2017, has confirmed that a further 2,000 premises will benefit thanks to contract clawback.

The Connect8 campaign has this week hailed the arrival of a 24Mbps+ Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) broadband network in the rural South Oxfordshire village of Stonor, which has been deployed by Village Networks and is also being extended into Pishill (as far as is technically possible).
