Rural broadband ISP Quickline, which is building a new gigabit-capable full fibre (FTTP) and wireless (FWA) broadband network across rural parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in England (3-Year Rollout Plan), has today announced that they’ve now covered 10,610 premises as part of their publicly subsidised Project Gigabit contract.

The current CEO of alternative rural broadband provider Quickline, Sean Royce, has today announced that he’s retiring after nearly 5 years leading the business and is to be replaced by their Chief Transformation Officer, Mark Bowden. At the same time, the provider has promoted Martin Cook to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Homes covered by Quickline’s new gigabit full fibre (FTTP) broadband network, which by the end of 2025 will have covered 200,000 premises across rural parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (up from 65,000 premises in Nov 2023), may like to know that they’ve discounted the price of their top 1Gbps tier from £49 to just £32 per month.

Alternative network ISP Quickline, which is rolling out a new gigabit-capable full fibre (FTTP) and wireless (FWA) broadband network across rural parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in England (3-Year Rollout Plan), has just extended their fibre network to three more rural communities along the banks of the River Ouse – the villages of Swinefleet, Reedness and Whitgift. Plus Patrington, Tickton and Broomfleet in other areas.

Alternative network ISP Quickline, which is rolling out a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) and wireless (FWA) broadband network across rural parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in England (3-Year Rollout Plan), has published their accounts to the end of 2024 and revealed revenues grew to £3.9m (2023: £3m). But they had an operating loss of £33.1m (2023: £28.8m).

At the start of this year Quickline, which is building a rural gigabit broadband network across parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (England), announced that they and the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) would support 500 students through a bursary scheme (i.e. money to help with study, travel and childcare costs). The first 50 students have now benefitted from this.

The North Yorkshire Council (NYC) in England has proposed to wind-up the NYNet 100 company, which was originally created to help carry out procurement and contract management for the local authority’s Superfast North Yorkshire (SFNY) project. This has helped 201,000 premises in the rural county to access faster broadband over the last 15 years.

Rural focused UK ISP Quickline has revealed that they’ve now covered 2,000 premises as part of their £73.5m state-aid supported Project Gigabit roll-out contract for North Yorkshire (Lot 31), which was awarded a year ago (here). The contract aims to extend gigabit-capable broadband to reach an additional 36,300 premises in some of the hardest-to-reach areas.

Alternative rural broadband ISP Quickline has today reported that they’ve hit their “first milestones” as part of their state aid supported Project Gigabit broadband roll-out contracts for West and South Yorkshire. More than 10,000 rural premises now have access to their new full fibre (FTTP) network as a result, with more to come.
