Mobile operator O2 (Virgin Media) has followed Vodafone’s announcement yesterday (here) by confirming that they, working alongside Small Cell experts at Freshwave, have also just completed the latest phase of Haven holiday park network upgrades to their 4G and 5G mobile (mobile broadband) network as families enjoy the October half-term break.
The details are a little thin on the ground with this one, but O2 states that their upgrade work applies to just 7 of Haven’s parks, including Marton Mere (Blackpool),Burnham-on-Sea (Somerset), Perran Sands (Cornwall), Devon Cliffs (Exmouth), Littlesea (Weymouth), Seaview (Weymouth) and Rockley Park (Poole).
The improvements are also said to have strengthened connectivity for nearby local communities too, with better 4G and 5G services in areas that see visitor numbers rise sharply during school holiday periods.

Steven Verigotta, Director of Mobile Delivery at O2, said:
“Holidays are when people want their phones to simply work, whether they are sharing photos, streaming entertainment, checking the weather or keeping in touch with family back home.
These upgrades are improving the mobile experience at some of the UK’s busiest holiday destinations, giving O2 customers more reliable connectivity when demand is highest.
It is another example of our Mobile Transformation Plan in action, investing where connectivity matters most and helping customers stay connected throughout the October half-term getaway.”

The previous post, for me was a really poor solution, this is definitely a gold star solution, this is what should have happened.
