UK Alternative Network ISP WarwickNet Hails a Successful 5 Years

Thursday, Oct 27th, 2016 (4:33 pm) - Score 578

Coventry-based WarwickNet, which builds its own alternative fibre optic broadband networks (FTTP, Vectored VDSL2 / FTTC etc.) to connect poorly served businesses across the Midlands, Surrey and Berkshire in England, has today reported a strong turnover of £3.4 million in the last financial year.

Back in 2011 the ISP had just 36 business clients over 8 live sites and these were supported by 4 employees, but since then they’ve grown to cater for more than 1,000 customers at 100 live sites and they now employ 21 staff.

WarwickNet are also one of only a handful of ISPs across the United Kingdom to be deploying Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) commercially, which allows them to build their own infrastructure faster and more efficiently.

Ben King, WarwickNet CEO and Founder, said:

“We have worked successfully with BT for a considerable amount of time. Having access to Openreach’s ducts and poles has allowed us to deploy our own fibre networks across poorly-connected business parks on a much faster timescale and this has seen companies connected in a fraction of the time it would have taken otherwise.

The past five years has seen significant growth for WarwickNet. We have invested in experienced, knowledgeable people and, in turn, the service we provide has continued to help struggling firms around the country. We have ambitious plans going forward and believe we are uniquely placed to grow rapidly in the business connectivity solutions arena.”

End.
