Earlier this month we reported (here) that UK business broadband and I.T solutions provider Inclarity Communications had fallen into administration. The good news is that the company’s administrators, Moorfields Advisory Limited, have sold the company to VanillaIP owners DRD Communications.
As previously reported, Inclarity’s last publicly available accounts, which were made up to 31st July 2020 (accounts for the most recent year have been overdue since July 2022), stated that the provider was still operating as a “going concern” and that over £1.2m had been invested in their I.T. infrastructure, while customer churn levels were low. At that time, they were hoping for more growth and had 16 employees, but something went wrong.
Moorfields told customers a few weeks ago that they would make “every effort to complete a sale of the Company’s business as a going concern” and they appear to have been successful. Cloud services provider DRD Communications, which also operates VanillaIP, Uboss and Qudo, has acquired the struggling ISP for an undisclosed sum.

The CEO of DRD, Dave Dadds, said:
“Inclarity were one of the early adopters in the VoIP market with over 25,000 users on their Cisco Broadworks platform. We look forward to working with partners and direct clients to ensure the stability of all services. In addition to the Broadworks platform, Inclarity are the range holder of approximately 2 million phone numbers which we will continue to support.”
According to the administrators, this deal “preserves all the jobs and represents the best outcome for creditors“, as well as the business and its stakeholders. “Under new ownership, we feel confident it will be able to prosper,” said Moorfields. Credits to Lee for spotting this development.
DRD now plans to migrate all users and services to their VanillaIP Uboss platform “as soon as possible“, which will take them towards 150,000 users across their UK and international partners.
Earlier this year (I think it was) – They had a major incident (Inclarity) where their infra was down for almost a whole week.
No phones could access their provisioning server or SBCs. Rumour has it a major cyber attack was the cause that caused hardware failure, but they were very tightlipped.
I didnt realise that had so few hosted seats (25000 seats is nothing special – Given Gamma has about 600k on their Horizon Platform and Telcosswitch about 200k)
The reseller I used to work for acquired a business that provided about 2k – 3k seats to Inclarity so I wonder just how may companies they convinced to drive their hosted platform forward!
