BT Sport TV and Eurosport UK Being Rebranded to TNT Sport

Farewell BT Sport. Last year’s agreement between broadband giant BT and Warner Bros. Discovery, which resulted in a 50:50 Joint Venture (JV) company between BTSport and Eurosport UK, will now officially result in the channels being rebranded as TNT Sport for the UK and Ireland.

According to BT, the change will be introduced from July 2023, when TNT Sports “will continue the spirit of what BT Sport has built over the past decade” – before the start of the 2023/2024 football season. Until then, BT Sport will continue on as usual.

The re-branded channel will carry content from the Olympic Games, the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, UFC, Boxing, WWE, tennis Grand Slams, cycling Grand Tours and the winter sports season. “Eurosport (U.K & Ireland only) will become part of this new brand at some time in the future“, said BT.

The agreement ultimately enables BT to focuse more of their efforts toward supporting Openreach’s £15bn deployment of Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP technology to 25 million UK premises by December 2026 (currently at 9.6 million premises passed). Not to mention their ongoing rollout of ultrafast 5G mobile infrastructure.

At present, there’s no indication of any future pricing changes for existing customers, although a price increase has not been ruled out either. One other point to make, for those who use the BTSport app for viewing, is that the Discover+ app will become the home of the newly rebranded channel.

Have you read the article? It’s not an additional service, it’s replacing BT Sports

      You don’t have to pay.

Anyway, sport is like sex, better to be a participant than a spectator.

Do we think that Eurosport will end up part of the BT Sport subscription as a standalone thing, rather than included in Sky’s base entertainment pack?

Patterson’s multi billion pound bet on sports finally dead and buried.
