Scotland-based business broadband ISP Commsworld has this morning announced the appointment of its first Commercial Director, Louise Thompson, as it looks to “further expand its business footprint across the UK“.
Louise joins Commsworld after nearly three decades of commercial leadership experience across IT, telecoms and health, with senior roles including as Head of Commercial Management at BT Expedite, Head of Commercial Contract Management at Airwave, and Contract Manager at EDS.
The new Commercial Director is expected to assist in strengthening and evolving the provider’s commercial offering to both public and private sector customers. She will also work with Commsworld’s Board and leadership team on strategic decision-making and developing new models to help create long-term value for customers, partners and suppliers.

Steve Langmead, CEO of Commsworld, said:
“Everyone at Commsworld is delighted to welcome Louise to the company. She brings an exceptional blend of commercial expertise, strategic thinking and values-led leadership. Her experience across telecommunications and IT will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve.
Louise’s appointment further strengthens our executive team, following Melony Buchanan’s appointment as Chief Revenue Officer. It demonstrates our commitment to not only support the future ambitions of our commercial offering to current stakeholders, but further expand our offering right across the UK to new customers, partners and suppliers.”

Prospective customers should watch out for their above inflation annual price increases. I know price increases are commonplace across the industry but Commsworld’s seems to veer on the side of profiteering after luring customers in with lowball offers.
