Mobile operator Vodafone UK has quietly increased their internet data Mobile Broadband usage allowances to 1GB (GigaBytes) on their contract based packages, albeit only those for handset deals that cost over £36 (24 month contracts) or over £41 (12/18 month contracts) per month.
Previously the same packages had an allowance of either 500MB (MegaBytes, aka 0.5GB) or 750MB (0.75GB). The move could be designed to help Vodafone stay competitive with Three UK and T-Mobile , both of which have over the past year returned to special “unlimited” style data bundles.
At the time of writing the change hasn’t yet been reflected on Vodafone’s website but that should follow soon.
