Business ISP Timico has launched a new range of up to 80Mbps download speed (20Mbps uploads) capable superfast “Fibre Broadband” packages, which are based off the latest Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) technology and come with a FREE Connection (normally £99 +vat).
The new packages typically cost an extra £5 per month more than their current crop of ‘up to’ 40Mbps based FTTC services, which is fairly typical of most ISPs. Timico is also geared more towards higher quality business solutions and this makes even their entry-level package for “single home workers” seem quite pricey.

As usual there’s an array of additional packages with larger usage allowances, which extend up to a 500GB solution for the portly sum of £80 +vat. Needless to say that Timico are one of the most expensive FTTC providers, although the addition of a FREE Connection is one way to help off-set that.
At present FTTC technology is available to almost 40% of the UK (10 million premises passed) and should reach 66% or more in 2014.
