Rochdale-based ISP Zen Internet has today announced the launch of its new broadband and phone bundles for home and business customers, which start from £24.50 inc. VAT per month and also include 5,000 free voice call minutes (UK landlines plus 0845 and 0870 numbers).
The two home packages are split into being based on either Zen’s standard up to 16Mbps (Megabits per second) broadband service or their new up to 38Mbps capable superfast “Fibre Broadband” solution. It should be noted that the Fibre service also carries a one-off £96.00 inc. VAT activation fee (this includes the installation and needed BTOpenreach VDSL modem).

Andrew Saunders, Zen’s Head of Product Management, said:
“We have introduced Broadband and Phone packages to make it even easier for our and customers and they can be confident that these services come with Zen’s award winning service and support. These new packages clearly demonstrate our commitment to provide the best ISP service in the UK.”
Both home packages include a set 20GB usage allowance (bit low by modern standards), unlimited uploads, a choice of 1 or 8 static IP addresses, 11 POP3 mailboxes with email anti-virus protection and webmail, 2GB of webspace and free uk based customer support.
The ISP states that it’s free to transfer an existing telephone line to Zen. Meanwhile new customers joining from unbundled ISPs like TalkTalk, O2, BE Broadband or Sky Broadband can apparently get half price activation on Zen’s Fibre Broadband service or free activation for their standard broadband (subject to a 12 month contract).
As a side note Zen’s line rental service does not impose a minimum call set up or call connection fee for any calls to UK landline, mobile or international telephone numbers.
