Wireless ISP Allpay Broadband has won a vital contract to roll-out a new public WiFi based wireless internet hotspot zone in the centre of Hereford City in Herefordshire (England, UK).
The deal with Herefordshire Council means that Allpay Broadband, which normally specialises in deploying wireless broadband services by placing special transmitters on top of local churches, will need to install three wireless nodes along the main shopping area of the city.
Tony Killeen, Owner of Allpay Limited, said:
“This is a great step forward for Hereford, installing this Wi-Fi zone has the potential to increase tourism, help businesses, improve the local economy and even enhance social cohesions. We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract, which reflects our investment in the local community and our commitment to bringing Herefordshire up to speed.”
The service is expected to go live at the beginning of April 2013.
