Barrowford-based ISP Denwa UK has announced the expansion of its Fibre to the Mast (FTTM) technology, which offers internet download speeds of up to 100Mbps (10Mbps upload) to local businesses from only £49 +vat per month, to reach more locations in Lancashire (England).
The service, which is already available to various locations in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Dublin and Birmingham, will now be offered to businesses in Burnley and Pendle (Lancashire).

The announcement comes shortly after BT and LCC confirmed that Burnley would be one of the first areas to benefit from FTTC/P superfast fibre optic based broadband services (here).
Rob Scott, Denwa Managing Director, said (Burnley Express):
“Broadband in Burnley and Pendle has not been very good due to a lack of fibre optic options. We’ve heard from a lot of local companies complaining about this. That prompted us to erect a mast near King’s Causeway in Nelson. The result means we can offer broadband 10 times faster than many providers currently.
It is a superfast, reliable and low-cost alternative to fibre-leased lines which are notoriously expensive and cost prohibitive for small business owners.”
The total coverage for Lancashire will now include Accrington, Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley, Chorley, Cleveleys, Lancaster, Leyland, Lytham St. Anne’s, Masefield, Morecambe, Nelson, Preston, Rossendale, Skelmersdale. It’s understood that Denwav’s dubiously named FTTM solution is based off Microwave (radio) technology.
ISPreview.co.uk notes that the service also costs around £295 +vat to install.
