UPD Solway Communications to Expand Wireless Internet in Cumbria UK

ISP Solway Communications, which delivers a 10Mbps capable wireless broadband service to homes and businesses around the city of Carlisle in Cumbria (North West England), are looking to expand their network into nearby Whitehaven and Keswick.

Prices for the service typically start at £25 inc. VAT per month (from £250 for the installation) for a download speed of 5Mbps (2Mbps upload) that includes the required connection hardware, unlimited usage (FUP) and a 12 month contract. During the first 12 months of your contract you also get the next higher package’s speeds for FREE (for the first 200 people in 2013 to sign up).

According to Recombu, the plans to extend Solway Comms network have not yet been given final approval but this is expected to happen soon.

Solway has clarified that they’re “just expanding in a sustainable way where the county’s business needs are” and their plans do not need specific approval before they can proceed.
