It took a while but Sky (Sky Broadband) has finally added ten of the UK’s top pay-tv entertainment channels (e.g. Sky Atlantic, Sky 1, Discover) to their unlimited web-based Internet TV and Movie (video streaming) service – NOW TV – and it only costs from £4.99 a month (introductory price).
The new pay-as-you-go style Entertainment Month Pass includes the following channels: Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts 1, Discovery, MTV, Comedy Central, GOLD, Disney and FOX. As with the existing Sky Movies and Sky Sports options the NOW TV service does not require a contract or Sky TV subscription to function.

Gidon Katz, Director of NOW TV, said:
“Millions of people can now go online to watch some of the best entertainment channels, including Sky 1, Sky Atlantic and Comedy Central. NOW TV offers pay-as-you-go access to brand new episodes of home-grown British shows and the biggest and best US series for anyone with broadband.”
The service itself can also be accessed from all of the usual computers, smartphones and mobile devices (iOS and Android etc.) via a special app or a £9.99 (one-off) NOW TV set-top-box for your television set. But you’ll need a minimum broadband speed of 2.5Mbps to use the service and a stable wifi link to your router.
The NOW TV box will also be adding Channel 4’s catch-up TV service 4oD to its platform before the end of the year. Meanwhile the introductory price of £4.99 will only be available to those who join by 31st March 2014 (there’s no word on the post-offer price).
