Fibre optic ISP Seethelight, which offers a 200Mbps capable Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) package to several parts of the UK via the Independent Fibre Networks Limited platform, has followed the big ISPs to announce a series of New Year price hikes of its own. On the bright side some users will be getting a 300Mbps upgrade.
The service, which last year announced plans to cover over 50,000 premises (i.e. newly built commercial and residential properties) at more than 20 sites across the country (here), has advised customers in a new email notice that their prices will be increased from 1st February 2014.

In addition, customers who take their 200Mbps capable FTTH package will also shortly be getting an upgrade to 300Mbps, which is nice even though most would struggle to take full advantage of such speeds.
However Seethelight admitted that the “increase in our prices is unfortunate” and in an effort to give something back they’ve also simplified their call charges to UK mobile phones, with a single peak and off-peak charge no matter which network you’re calling. On top of that their Voice Anytime option now includes inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers.
Furthermore they’ve also introduced two new mobile and international call packages. The Mobile 100 package (£5 a month) gives you 100 inclusive minutes to any UK mobile numbers and the International 300 option, which costs the same, offers 300 inclusive minutes to 50 fixed line international call destinations.
