Fibre optic developer CityFibre has announced a new partnership that will see them working with business ISP Businesscoms to offer a range of 1000Mbps capable broadband packages to local firms, specifically those within reach of their new £30 million Peterborough CORE network.
So far more than 200+ local businesses have registered their interest in the service, which is due to see the first construction work begin next month. After that it will take another 12 months to complete.

Rob Baldacci of Businesscoms said:
“We are truly excited by the potential of the Gigabit business services we will soon be launching over the Peterborough CORE. Not only will businesses now be able to transform their digital productivity with affordable Gigabit Connectivity, but the pure fibre connection into their business will also make possible a range of other cost-saving and efficiency-improving services such as smart VoIP solutions.
Many of our existing customers have asked us when they would be able to connect and we are delighted that we will now be able to bring these services to our current and future customer base.”
The press release suggests that Businesscoms will be “able to help over 500 of its customers take advantage of these unparalleled connection speeds“, which assumes they’ll want to swap. Meanwhile CityFibre are continuing to run their “Gig Up” campaign in the hope of attracting interest from yet more local firms in the English city.
