At present you’d be hard pressed to find an ISP that offers an up to 40-80Mbps capable Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) based superfast broadband service with anything less than a 12 month contract, which is how it comes packaged by the supplier. But Devon-based ISP Pulse8 has decided to do away with this and take a risk on a 1 month term.
The Director of Pulse8, Adam Fullalove, told ISPreview.co.uk that his ISP hates contracts and customers stay with them because of their service quality. So, as well as dropping the installation price of their service from £150 to £75 inc. VAT, they’re also keen to promote a 1 month contract term and will pay the fine to their supplier if a customer leaves early.
On the surface the standard price for Pulse8’s FTTC packages might seem somewhat higher than other mainstream providers, which could help to be alleviating some of the risk, except for the fact that they also include the cost of Line Rental and this makes them look much more competitive. It’s always nice to see an ISP break from the mould.
