UK ISP TalkTalk Cuts Essentials TV and Broadband to £5 Per Month

Budget communications provider TalkTalk has reduced the price(s) of their triple-play Essentials TV and Plus TV (YouView) broadband bundles to £5 and £10 per month respectively for the first 6 months of service (£7.50 and £15.50 thereafter). A £50 Love2Shop voucher has also been included.

As usual new subscribers will also need to accept an 18 month contract term and pay line rental at £15.40 per month on top, although this can be reduced to the equivalent of £10.50 by pre-paying through the annual Value Line rental (VLR) product.

The second Plus TV package is similar to Essentials TV, although it adds Anytime Calls and a more advanced YouView box that includes proper PVR TV recording features. As usual customers can add TalkTalk’s 38Mbps capable Superfast Fibre (FTTC) service to both packages by paying from an additional +£10 per month (£15 for 76Mbps).

It’s also important to remember that the YouView based TV service requires a minimum speed of 3Mbps, which rises to 5Mbps if you take any of their TV Boost add-ons like Sky Movies or Sky Sports etc. ISPreview.co.uk understands that the new promotion will be available until 21st May 2014, although their Love2Shop voucher is set to end on 13th March.
