As expected EE has today dropped the -£10 discount for existing mobile customers from their fixed line Home Broadband packages and instead lowered the prices for everybody. In addition, Home Broadband subscribers will also now benefit from the 2 for 1 cinema tickets and 241 pizza express (2 for 1 pizza, every Wednesday) promotions.
The changes, which we first revealed last week (here), mean that EE’s existing mobile customers (inc. Orange UK and T-Mobile) will now have to pay the same for the Home Broadband service as everybody else and the standard prices have thus been reduced to compensate. Currently this change only appears to impact new broadband customers.

On top of that the cost of having a new phone line installed, if needed, has fallen from £60 to just £30 and there will be no additional Superfast Fibre Broadband (FTTC) connection fees if you take one of those packages. EE has also promised to cover up to £100 worth of termination charges for customers who are still in contract with their current provider and wish to leave.
The result is that EE’s packages are now much more generally competitive with similar services from Sky Broadband, TalkTalk and BT. But take note that you still have to pay Line Rental on top of the broadband price, which has also increased slightly from £15.40 a month to £15.75 (or the equivalent of £11 if pre-paid 12 months in advance).
