Internet and hosting provider XILO created a small influx of emails for us this month after the page for their fixed line broadband services vanished from the ISPs website and their “Community Forum” also appeared to no longer be accessible.
Naturally some were quick to question whether the ISP, which has been otherwise quite well rated over the past few years, was about to give up on broadband provision in order to focus more effort onto their hosting services.
However XILO’s boss, Matt Martin, claims this is not the case and that they’re merely shuffling things around a little because the old page was apparently in need of a revamp (this is likely true since the related pages weren’t as well set out as they could have been). But quite why they couldn’t have revamped it first, instead of removing the old listing, we don’t know.
As for the ISP’s forum being inaccessible, we’ve been told that XILO has swapped to a discuss system and the old forums were also very low volume. Never the less Martin did hint that he’d take a look at the forum, not least since they’re still linking to it even though the service doesn’t appear to function from those links.
We have queried when their broadband packages will return, as at present there’s no obvious service for new customers to order, and are awaiting a response. Existing customers have not been affected.
