The Internet access division of high street retailer John Lewis has informed customers about a number of big changes, which among other things will see all their standard broadband users being upgraded to “unlimited” usage, the introduction of a new 76Mbps Fibre Extra option and various price changes.
The move is perhaps long overdue as John Lewis’s broadband service, which is based off PlusNet’s product(s), hasn’t really changed much since it first launched all the way back in 2012 and two of their three broadband bundles are packages with capped data usage (today’s market prefers “unlimited“).

At present JLB sell three broadband and phone bundles, all of which include line rental at £13.50 per month and a free wireless router. Otherwise the ‘Standard Broadband’ (up to 17Mbps ADSL) service costs £11 per month with 20GB usage and this rises to £18 for unlimited usage. Meanwhile the ‘up to’ 38Mbps Fibre (FTTC) package costs £25 per month with a 100GB usage allowance.
However ISPreview.co.uk, which was pointed to the changes by one of the ISP’s subscribers, understands that all of this will change from the 10th May 2016.
