Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) ISP Voneus has acquired another rival broadband network called Rural Comms Limited, which until recently served a number of remote rural communities in parts of Devon and Cornwall (England) – mostly operating from Ivybridge and focused around Exmoor, Dartmoor and South Hams.
The Rural Comms network, which previously sold unlimited residential packages of between 10Mbps (£12.99 per month) to 45Mbps (£36.99 per month), has now joined the many other small wireless providers that have recently been gobbled up by Voneus for an undisclosed sum. Voneus itself tends to sell a similar 30-50Mbps capable wireless package from £34.99 per month.
At present very little is known about the deal, although it’s worth noting that Rural Comms Limited also helped to administer another little known full fibre network from John Watkins (now known as AtoB Networks). The A2B network was not part of the Voneus deal and remains a separate operation, which seems to be focused upon catering for several villages just west of Exeter (Devon) with a Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) solution.

Sadly we can’t list A2B as there are not enough public package details or prices on their website.
