Some customers of Sky’s various TV, phone and Sky Broadband services appear to currently be experiencing “issues making payments” in the UK, which seems to be disrupting sign-ups to new packages via the Sky Marketplace and also preventing some payments for reoccurring subscriptions (e.g. adds-on).
At present it’s difficult to determine precisely when this issue started, since there were sporadic reports at the end of last week and those seem to have increased since yesterday afternoon. Suffice to say if you see any unexpected notices on Sky’s account or order pages about “failed payments” or “outstanding bills“, then you are not alone.
Sky has since updated their website to confirm they’re currently “having some technical issues” and “customers may be experiencing issues making payments. We are aware of the issue and have the right teams working hard to restore services as quickly as possible.”

Sky appears to have resolved the problem.

I wonder if this is related to the issues of the 13th August when Sky mobile went down and Broadband calls failed for the evening.
